Section titled “On open-source trust, acoustic phishing, and the art of hacking HR”

We like to think tech recruitment is a rational process. We write objective rubrics, run LeetCode gauntlets, and conduct three-stage system design interviews.

But if you look at hiring through the lens of evolutionary biology, the reality is far more humiliating: hiring managers get hacked.

They don’t get bypassed by technical brilliance alone. They get compromised by candidates who find zero-day vulnerabilities in human neurochemistry—specifically, our deeply ingrained parental instincts and trust protocols.

Let’s translate the ultimate biological exploits of dogs and cats into the tech recruitment arena. Imagine you are hiring for a critical, high-stakes Senior or Team Lead position.

Here are the two candidates who will socially engineer your hiring process, and exactly how their exploits execute.

Candidate 1: The “Golden Retriever” (The Emotional Hacker)

Section titled “Candidate 1: The “Golden Retriever” (The Emotional Hacker)”

The Profile: An open, hyper-enthusiastic professional who leverages loyalty, transparency, and team chemistry.

The Strategy: The Oxytocin DDoS Attack

Dogs didn’t just learn to tolerate humans; they genetically bricked their own threat models to become hypersocial. Candidate 1 does the same. They don’t just want a job; they are genetically hardwired to love your mission.

Here is how the exploit executes in the interview:

  • The Gaze Loop: They don’t just listen; they absorb. They maintain warm, unblinking eye contact. They nod exactly when the hiring manager complains about architectural legacy pain. They broadcast an unencrypted signal: “I feel your pain. We are in this together.”
  • Mission Sync: They studied the product. They don’t talk about their requirements; they talk about how they can protect you. “I saw that recent feature launch—brilliant. I want to be part of that. I want to cover your blind spots so you can ship faster.”
  • The “Safe Guy” Trigger: They are radically transparent. They voluntarily admit to an old fuck-up, then explain how they fixed it. This trips the manager’s oxytocin circuit: This person is safe. They are loyal. They will not backstab me.
  • Closing the Loop: The follow-up email isn’t a generic “thank you.” It’s a targeted payload: “While driving home, I thought about that microservice bottleneck we discussed. Have you considered this pattern?”

The Hack Outcome: The hiring manager’s brain ignores minor gaps in hard skills. The internal alarm screams: “Hire them! It will be so safe and comfortable. They will drag this project across the finish line on pure motivation.”

They bypass the technical firewall using pure trust.

Candidate 2: The “Sphinx” (The Social Engineer)

Section titled “Candidate 2: The “Sphinx” (The Social Engineer)”

The Profile: A narrow-spec, cold-blooded architect or ninja-developer who projects an aura of extreme exclusivity and scarcity.

The Strategy: Custom APIs and Acoustic Phishing

Cats refused to rewrite their genome for humans. They kept their predator instincts and built a flawless UI for human manipulation. Candidate 2 does exactly this.

  • The Custom API: In the technical interview, the Sphinx is a man of few words. He completely ignores the HR recruiter—he doesn’t care about the “scents and body language” of corporate culture. But the second the Tech Lead asks about the stack, the Sphinx switches to a crystal-clear, highly technical dialect understood only by the two of them. He creates a private communication channel, signaling: “You and I are the only adults in the room. The rest is background noise.”
  • Hardware Spoofing (Unfazed Demeanor): He is relaxed, calm, perhaps slightly bored. He solves the architecture whiteboard test in 10 minutes, yawns, and says: “Well, that’s a classic crutch. I’d rewrite it entirely.” This triggers the manager’s hunter instinct. The Sphinx reverses the dynamic: he forces the company to sell the job to him.
  • Acoustic Phishing (The Solicitation Purr): Instead of asking for the job, he elegantly highlights a critical vulnerability in the company’s current system. “I looked at your metrics. Your database will fall over at this scale. I know how to fix it in a month.” This is a high-frequency distress signal. The manager’s brain panics at the vulnerability and simultaneously sees the Sphinx as the only salvation. We must hire him to make the alarm stop.

The Hack Outcome: The manager agrees to a salary significantly above market rate and mentally prepares to tolerate a difficult personality or zero attendance at corporate parties. The brain concludes: “This is a genius. We must capture him at all costs, or we will not survive.”

Both algorithms work flawlessly. They just exploit different vulnerabilities in human psychology.

The Golden Retriever hacks your need for safety and connection. The Sphinx hacks your fear of failure and desire for competence.

The only question you have to ask yourself before making an offer is: which exploit does your project actually need right now?

Your Pets Hacked You

On biological exploits, open-source trust, and acoustic phishing

Section titled “On biological exploits, open-source trust, and acoustic phishing”

We like to think we are the apex predators who benevolently domesticated our pets. We brought them out of the wild, gave them shelter, and integrated them into our civilization.

Bullshit.

If you look at the mechanics of this relationship through the lens of evolutionary biology, the reality is far more humiliating: they hacked us.

They didn’t conquer us with force. They found zero-day vulnerabilities in our neurochemistry—specifically, our deeply ingrained parental instincts—and exploited them to secure infinite resources, free healthcare, and premium real estate on our couches.

If dogs are straightforward hackers who permanently bricked their own core operating system to interface with our trust protocols, cats are master social engineers.

Here is exactly how they both pulled off the greatest interspecies exploit in history.

Dogs didn’t just learn to “tolerate” humans. They are genetically hardwired to love us. During domestication, they essentially deleted the wolf’s natural wariness module and replaced it with a permanent state of hypersociability.

In 2017, geneticists found the exact commit where this happened. A dog’s relentless drive to connect stems from structural changes on their 6th chromosome.

In humans, a deletion in the analogous gene cluster causes Williams-Beuren syndrome. The primary psychological hallmark of this condition? Extreme, uninhibited friendliness and a complete lack of social fear.

Evolution selectively rewarded early dogs who carried these mutations. Their friendliness isn’t a learned trick; it’s a hardware modification. They permanently broke their own threat model to become our best friends.

Dogs didn’t stop at modifying their own hardware. They learned to execute a massive neurochemical DDoS attack on ours.

They co-opted the oxytocin-gaze positive loop—a biological protocol originally restricted strictly to a human mother and her infant.

Here is the exploit execution:

  1. The Trigger: The dog stares into your eyes. Your brain parses this as an infant’s signal of attachment.
  2. The Spike: Your hypothalamus dumps a massive surge of oxytocin (up to 300%).
  3. The Response: Intoxicated, you start petting the dog and talking like an idiot.
  4. The Loop: Your touch triggers an oxytocin spike in the dog (130%), compelling them to stare at you more.

Dogs are the only known species capable of directly triggering our internal maternal care API. They bypass the firewall using pure trust.

If dogs modified their own hardware, cats refused to touch their base genome.

They are essentially semi-domesticated predators who realized that living near human grain silos full of mice was a highly profitable grift. Instead of genetic overhaul, they developed a suite of behavioral exploits designed to precisely target our vulnerabilities.

A cat’s standard purr is a low-frequency rumble that promotes calmness. But when a cat wants food, it deploys a different payload: the solicitation purr.

Cats embed a hidden high-frequency component (220–520 Hz) into this purr. This frequency is the exact acoustic signature of a crying human infant. Our brains are biologically incapable of ignoring it. It triggers subconscious anxiety and an overwhelming urgency to “feed the baby” just to make the sound stop.

They literally run a crying-baby audio spoof to extort you for tuna.

Adult felines in the wild almost never meow at each other. They hiss, growl, and use complex body language. Meowing is strictly an interface used by blind, helpless kittens to ping their mother.

Once domesticated, cats realized humans are giant, scent-blind idiots who ignore subtle body language but react strongly to audio. So, they artificially retained this juvenile trait into adulthood (neoteny) as a custom interface exclusively for us.

Over time, a cat will even A/B test the pitch of its meow to find the exact frequency that breaks your specific resolve.

Cats perfectly fit the baby schema—a set of physical traits that force primates to feel endearment:

  • Large head, enormous eyes, flat face.
  • Soft and warm.
  • Payload Weight: The average adult cat weighs 3–5 kg (7–11 lbs)—almost exactly the weight of a human newborn.

When you pick up a cat, your proprioceptors send a direct message to your brain: “You are holding an infant. Do not drop it.”

The Biological Backdoor: Toxoplasma gondii

Section titled “The Biological Backdoor: Toxoplasma gondii”

This is the ultimate symbiotic trojan horse. Cats are the primary hosts for Toxoplasma gondii. This parasite infects mice, rewires their neural pathways to erase their fear of cat urine, and essentially walks the mouse directly into the predator’s mouth.

Humans also mass-adopt this parasite (an estimated 1/3 of the global population is infected). While it doesn’t turn us into zombies, neurobiological studies show infected humans become more risk-tolerant and subconsciously develop more affection toward the smell of cats.

They literally have a biological rootkit running in the background.

The Appendix: Career Strategies for the Interspecies Era

Section titled “The Appendix: Career Strategies for the Interspecies Era”

The beauty of these exploits is that they aren’t just for pets. You can apply these exact biological mechanics to your career strategy.

Imagine two candidates for a high-stakes Senior role:

They hack via the oxytocin loop. They maintain warm eye contact, mirror the hiring manager’s pain, and broadcast absolute transparency. They bypass the technical firewall by making the manager feel safe and protected. The manager hires them because their brain says, “This person will never backstab me.”

They hack via the solicitation purr and custom API. They project scarcity and indifference, solving the technical test in 10 minutes and then yawning. They identify a critical vulnerability in the company’s architecture—triggering that high-frequency alarm—and then offer themselves as the only fix. The manager hires them out of pure fear that the system will collapse without them.

The Verdict: Dogs recompiled their source code for trust. Cats kept their independence and built a flawless UI for manipulation.

Which exploit are you running today?

The Asymmetry of Force: Why Neo-Luddism is a Trap and Agorism 2.0 is the Only Escape

The Asymmetry of Force: Why Neo-Luddism is a Trap and Agorism 2.0 is the Only Escape

Section titled “The Asymmetry of Force: Why Neo-Luddism is a Trap and Agorism 2.0 is the Only Escape”

Social mobility is dead. The economic elevators that carried the middle class upward in the 20th century haven’t just stalled—their shafts have been filled with concrete. We are entering an era of algorithmic neo-feudalism, where returns on capital (compute, infrastructure, and intelligence) structurally outpace returns on labor.

If you feel like your socioeconomic status—and your children’s—is permanently locked in place, you are not hallucinating. You are observing a mathematical reality. But the historical impulse to drag elites to the guillotine or smash the machines is a catastrophic miscalculation.

The Protocol for Escape:

  1. Stop fighting the algorithm. Do not participate in Neo-Luddite protests; they are a manufactured lightning rod.
  2. Accumulate compute, not fiat. Shift your understanding of wealth from inflationary currencies to access to intelligence and GPUs.
  3. Build in the dark. Utilize Zero-Knowledge Proofs, Dark DAOs, and AI-arbitrated escrow to conduct economic activity outside the legacy state’s visibility.

Historically, a crowd armed with pitchforks or rifles could storm a palace because the asymmetry in physical force between the state and the people was surmountable. Today, that asymmetry is absolute.

A physical uprising against digital capitalism faces three insurmountable barriers:

  1. Total Surveillance and Privatized Security: Predictive analytics, facial recognition, and drone swarms mean coordination is neutralized before it leaves the group chat. The elite class is physically segregated in “green zones,” guarded by automated, non-human loyalists.
  2. Digital Anesthesia: Revolutions are born of starvation, not poverty. The modern state provides cheap baseline calories (carbohydrates) and infinite, algorithmically optimized dopamine (TikTok, gaming, streaming). A Universal Basic Income (UBI) will eventually be deployed not as utopian liberation, but as a digital ration—just enough comfort to make the fear of losing it stronger than the desire to riot.
  3. Managed Cultural Warfare: To prevent the bottom 90% from asking why the top 1% owns everything, algorithms horizontally pit the masses against each other. You are encouraged to fight over identity politics while capital consolidates assets in the background.

When the pressure becomes unbearable, the masses will inevitably unify under a single banner: “The AI stole our future.”

This is Neo-Luddism 2.0. And the capital-owning class will absolutely love it.

When anger is directed at a data center, an autonomous taxi, or a chatbot, it is safely diverted away from the owners of the patents, servers, and equity. AI makes the perfect scapegoat. Elites will nod sympathetically, form “AI Ethics Committees,” and quietly continue to extract rent. Smashing the loom never stops the factory owner.

The Terrifying Dead End of “Assassination Markets”

Section titled “The Terrifying Dead End of “Assassination Markets””

If the state holds a monopoly on violence, some radical theorists (dating back to Jim Bell’s 1995 Assassination Politics) suggest using anonymous prediction markets to crowdsource violence against oppressive actors, creating a “Mutually Assured Destruction” (MAD) deterrent for politicians.

Do not pursue this path. It is a fatal trap.

  • The War of Capitals: If a million citizens can pool $5M to target an elite, that elite can trivially drop $50M into a counter-market targeting protest leaders and independent builders. In a war of capitalized violence, the elites always have more tokens.
  • The Physical Segregation: You cannot target what you cannot reach. Elites will retreat to physically impenetrable, drone-guarded enclaves where these markets cannot be executed.
  • The Hobbesian Trap: Such markets inevitably degrade into a paranoid war of all against all, terrifying the general populace into actively begging the state for total AI surveillance to restore order.

You cannot violently overthrow a system that has a monopoly on automated force. You must render it economically irrelevant. This is Agorism 2.0: the creation of a shadow economy so efficient and cryptographically opaque that the legacy state cannot tax, regulate, or even perceive it.

The tech stack for this parallel society is assembling right now:

Fiat currency melts in inflation. Bitcoin is heavily surveilled. The ultimate parallel asset is Compute. As highlighted in recent macroeconomic analyses of AI tokens, computing power (GPU hours, LLM generation tokens) is the new reserve currency. You don’t hoard dollars; you accumulate tokenized GPU cycles. It is a deflationary, physically constrained asset that the state cannot arbitrarily seize without physically raiding decentralized networks.

The legacy system demands KYC, bank accounts, and legal entities. A parallel institution bypasses this entirely by using Dark Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) running on default-private networks (like Aztec or leveraging zk-SNARKs). On paper, you are a low-income freelancer. In reality, you are a shareholder in an anonymous collective distributing massive profits through obfuscated P2P networks.

If you bypass the state, you lose access to state courts to enforce contracts. The replacement is instantaneous AI arbitration. Deals are locked in escrow via smart contracts. If a dispute arises, an AI agent—trained on libertarian ethics or strict contract law—analyzes the cryptographic logs and issues a binding verdict in three seconds for ten cents. Bad actors lose their “Soulbound” reputation tokens, mathematically exiling them from the parallel economy without a single act of violence.

ZKP allows you to prove you have the funds, qualifications, or citizenship to execute a transaction without ever revealing your identity or total balance. It is the cryptographic shield that reduces the state’s visibility to pure white noise.

The system will not fall to a revolution; it will be hollowed out by a quiet, massive, and technologically enabled exodus.

Your status is only locked in place if you continue playing by the rules of the legacy economy. The window to build and embed yourself in these parallel cryptographic networks is open now, before the surveillance state fully recognizes the threat. Stop raging against the machine, and start building the shadow network that makes it obsolete.

Section titled “AI Tokens as New Currency: A Macroeconomic Analysis of the Transition to Computational Power and LLM Generation Tokens”

Section titled “1.

Section titled “2.

Section titled “3.

Mean-reverting jump-diffusion stochastic process

Section titled “4.

Section titled “4.1.

Fractional Ownership

Section titled “4.2. Fractional Ownership”

Section titled “5.

Section titled “5.1.

5.2. Фактчекинг сделки Nvidia и OpenAI

Section titled “5.2.

Section titled “5.3.

Section titled “6.

Section titled “6.1.

150x – 200x (Price-to-Earnings), 176x (Price-to-Free Cash Flow)38x – 54x (Forward P/E)
(CUDA, NVLink, Blackwell/Rubin)

Section titled “6.2.

(Strategic Inventory)

Section titled “6.3. (Strategic Inventory)”

Section titled “7.

Section titled “7.1.

Nvidia Blackwell.

Section titled “7.2.

Section titled “8.

Scam Alert Pie: A UX Case Study Against Warning Blindness

Scam Alert Pie: A UX Case Study Against Warning Blindness

Section titled “Scam Alert Pie: A UX Case Study Against Warning Blindness”

Turning a scam warning into a protective behavior loop

Section titled “Turning a scam warning into a protective behavior loop”

A job-search product needs to warn users about scams.

That sounds simple until the warning becomes familiar.

The first time a user sees a red safety box, they may read it. The fifth time, they skim it. The twentieth time, the brain compresses it into a label: “the scam warning.” After that, it may stop being read at all.

This is the design failure: a warning can remain visible while becoming behaviorally dead.

The case study here is a small UX pattern for preventing that collapse. I call it Scam Alert Pie.

The invariant is:

Danger -> [Micro-lesson] -> Antidote

Or in product terms:

Static safety frame + occasional rotating atomic tip + fixed protective CTA

The point is not to lecture the user. The point is to interrupt a risky hiring flow with a tiny repeatable action that works even when the user is tired, hopeful, and under pressure.

Hiring products sit inside an uncomfortable threat model.

Scammers can impersonate recruiters, post fake roles, push malicious repos, request “project reviews,” harvest documents, extract wallet actions, or rent a candidate’s attention through a fake opportunity. The attack does not always begin with an obvious theft request. It often starts with a normal-looking hiring ritual.

The user is also rarely in an ideal state.

They may be:

  • tired after rejections;
  • financially pressured;
  • excited by a rare opportunity;
  • afraid of seeming paranoid;
  • unwilling to lose a possible offer;
  • too depleted to read a full safety guide.

That matters. Safety UX must not assume a calm expert user. It must work for a person who has low energy, low spare attention, and a strong emotional reason to continue.

So the job of the interface is not just to display information.

It must create a protective behavior loop:

risk noticed -> safe action remembered -> user slows down

The ordinary design move is predictable:

Show a red warning.
Say "Be careful, this might be a scam."
Link to a long guide.

This can work once. It does not necessarily keep working.

Security-warning research describes habituation as a declining response to repeated exposure. A longitudinal study by Vance, Jenkins, Anderson, Bjornn, and Kirwan found attention and adherence to security warnings dropped over time, while polymorphic warnings reduced that drop compared with standard warnings (BYU ScholarsArchive).

UX research around banner blindness points to a related failure mode: users learn to ignore elements that look like a familiar class of low-value UI, especially when those elements sit in expected places or resemble promotional material (Nielsen Norman Group).

There is an additional danger in warning design. A SOUPS 2019 paper, The Fog of Warnings, describes how habituation can generalize from frequent non-security notifications to security warnings when they share a similar look and feel (USENIX).

The practical takeaway is simple:

Static warnings degrade from message into shape.

The user no longer reads the content. They recognize the container and move on.

In a hiring product, this is especially dangerous because the user is not merely making a low-stakes UI choice.

They may be one click away from:

  • opening a malicious file;
  • running a repo;
  • sending documents;
  • sharing personal contact data;
  • joining a suspicious call;
  • performing unpaid work;
  • logging in through a personal account;
  • connecting a wallet;
  • continuing a manipulative conversation.

The warning must do more than say “danger.”

It must help the user perform a safer next move with very low effort.

The pattern has three slices.

Danger -> [Micro-lesson] -> Antidote

This is the stable safety frame.

It should remain recognizable. The user must immediately understand that they are in a risk zone.

Example:

This contact may be unverified.
Do not share sensitive materials before verification.

The purpose is not to explain every scam pattern. It answers only:

What is happening?
Why should I slow down?

This is the optional rotating middle line.

It appears sometimes, not always. It carries one specific safety atom.

Example:

Tip: High salary is not proof. Company-domain contact is closer to proof.

The purpose is to break semantic caching without turning the interface into noise.

The tip must be:

  • short;
  • specific;
  • actionable;
  • non-abstract;
  • limited to one idea.

This is the fixed protective action.

It should be stable because the user needs to learn one repeatable move.

Example:

Not sure? Run Magic Scam Check.
[Copy prompt]

The antidote matters because anxiety alone is not a safety flow. If the product only increases fear, the user may freeze, dismiss the warning, or continue anyway. A good warning turns uncertainty into a concrete next action.

Why the Middle Changes but the CTA Does Not

Section titled “Why the Middle Changes but the CTA Does Not”

There are two bad extremes.

If everything is static, the alert becomes wallpaper.

If everything changes, the alert becomes noise.

The useful middle is:

stable shell + variable signal + stable action

The stable shell preserves recognition.

The variable signal restores attention.

The stable action trains one protective habit.

That is the core UX move.

Use this for repeated exposure when no specific high-risk pattern has been detected.

Unverified contact.
Do not share sensitive materials before verification.
[Run Magic Scam Check]

Use this for first exposure, periodic reinforcement, or a relevant detected risk pattern.

This contact may be unverified.
Do not share sensitive materials before verification.
Tip: If they ask for a project review before verification, stop and verify first.
Not sure? Run Magic Scam Check.
[Copy prompt]

Use this before repo execution, external files, APKs, browser extensions, wallet actions, or account authorization.

High-risk step.
Do not run code, install software, connect a wallet, or log in through a personal account before verification.
Tip: A repo is not proof. It can be the attack surface.
[Run Magic Scam Check]

The tip library is the product’s small safety curriculum.

Examples:

High salary is not proof. Verified company-domain contact is closer to proof.
If they ask for a project review before verification, stop and verify first.
A real recruiter should be able to prove who they represent.
Do not open files or repo links from unverified recruiters.
A vague role plus an urgent next step is a risk pattern.
If their cost to fake is near zero and your cost is high, slow down.
Before a call, ask for role scope, compensation range, company identity, and process.
Screenshots and documents can be forged. Company-domain contact is harder to fake.
Do not let a scammer rent your attention for free.

The last one is especially useful because it reframes scam risk as adversarial economics:

They pay almost nothing.
You pay with attention, hope, time, documents, access, and risk.

The rotating tip should not appear every time.

A reasonable starting policy:

SituationAlert Behavior
First exposureExpanded alert + tip + CTA
Normal repeated exposureCompact alert + CTA
Every 3-5 exposuresAlert + rotating tip + CTA
High-risk pattern detectedAlert + relevant tip + CTA
Before revealing contactCompact alert + CTA
Before external link, file, or project reviewSpecific tip + CTA
Before local code execution or wallet actionHigh-risk alert + specific tip + CTA

The principle is not randomness. It is controlled variation.

The product keeps the protective object recognizable while refreshing the part that the user is likely to stop reading.

The antidote should not require the user to become a scam-detection expert.

The better move is:

uncertain -> copy prompt -> paste conversation -> get verdict + next safe step

Most job seekers already have access to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or another LLM. The product can use that fact defensively. It does not need to build a perfect internal anti-scam system before helping the user.

It can give the user a ready-to-run safety protocol.

You are my hiring-scam risk analyst.
Analyze this job or recruiter interaction as an adversarial economic system.
Core rule:
A legitimate hiring process should have a roughly fair exchange of effort and verifiable artifacts.
A suspicious process often asks me to spend high-value resources: time, attention, documents, code, calls, wallet actions, KYC, project review, or account access, while the other side provides low-cost or easily faked artifacts.
Evaluate:
1. What are they asking from me?
2. What have they proven?
3. What is their cost to fake this interaction?
4. What is my cost or risk if I continue?
5. Are there asymmetric effort, urgency, vagueness, unverifiable identity, fake authority, or project-review bait patterns?
6. What minimum verification should I request before continuing?
7. Give a verdict: Green / Yellow / Red.
8. Give one safe next message I can send.
Important:
Do not be polite to the opportunity.
Protect my time, documents, devices, wallets, credentials, and attention.
If information is missing, tell me exactly what to ask for.

This prompt is intentionally strict. A low-resource user does not need a polite opportunity coach. They need a second mind that will protect them from asymmetric harm.

The next layer is to turn individual protection into platform intelligence.

user reports suspicious contact
-> report becomes structured evidence
-> platform cross-checks patterns
-> trust score changes
-> confirmed patterns become new atomic tips

This can improve the product over time, but it needs an abuse-resistant design.

If rewards are added, reward structure should be conservative:

  • no reward for raw accusation;
  • reward only after cross-check;
  • higher reward for reusable evidence;
  • no reward for noisy reports;
  • trusted reporter score over time.

The goal is not to create accusation spam. The goal is to convert user observations into safety intelligence.

There is a possible second-order effect worth watching.

Ordinary warnings often end silently:

warning shown -> user avoided risk -> event forgotten

Scam Alert Pie may create a more shareable user story:

risk noticed -> check ran -> proof requested -> interaction clarified -> lesson remembered

The user does not only avoid a bad interaction. They get a small narrative: I noticed the asymmetry, ran the check, asked for proof, and watched the situation reveal itself.

For product teams, this matters because success may not show up only as fewer victims. It may also show up as users sharing screenshots, reporting suspicious flows, reusing the verification challenge elsewhere, and describing the moment they realized they were about to spend expensive trust against cheap proof.

This should be treated as a product hypothesis, not a promised therapeutic outcome. But it is a useful thing to instrument and listen for.

The scam is modeled as a cost imbalance:

attacker cost to fake ~= low
user cost to process ~= high

If the other side cheaply generates the appearance of opportunity while the user pays with attention, time, documents, calls, code execution, or project review, the product should interrupt the flow.

The user is not modeled as an ideal rational analyst.

The user is modeled as:

tired
hopeful
stressed
financially pressured
attention-limited
afraid to lose the opportunity

That assumption changes the design. It produces a short protective move instead of a long educational demand.

Static warnings are not enough because attention adapts.

Scam Alert Pie uses stability where recognition matters and controlled variation where attention decays.

Stable shell.
Rotating atom.
Fixed action.

The LLM is not used to generate more hiring spam.

It is used as a defensive layer:

parse the situation
detect asymmetric extraction
ask for missing verification
generate safe next message

This is an important product direction. AI can amplify attackers, but it can also give vulnerable users a protective analyst at the exact moment when they need one.

The case begins with a messy real-world event:

suspicious recruiter / risky hiring interaction

But the output is not just a complaint.

It becomes:

criterion
prompt
UX pattern
reporting loop
generalizable safety mechanism

That is the builder move: convert a live failure mode into productizable protection.

The invariant is not hiring.

The invariant is the pie:

Danger -> [Micro-lesson] -> Antidote

It applies anywhere there is:

  • repeated risk;
  • a tired user;
  • information asymmetry;
  • low attacker cost;
  • high user cost of error.

Examples:

  • job scams;
  • crypto wallet warnings;
  • phishing links;
  • marketplace scams;
  • freelance project bait;
  • fake investment offers;
  • malware repo links;
  • dating and social-engineering scams;
  • KYC or document harvesting.

The final rule is simple:

Do not lecture.
Do not only frighten.
Do not overload.
Name the danger.
Sometimes teach one small lesson.
Always give one protective action.

That is Scam Alert Pie.

Three Monetization Models for Adversarial Economics

Three Monetization Models for Adversarial Economics

Section titled “Three Monetization Models for Adversarial Economics”

Turning scam prevention into products that raise attacker cost

Section titled “Turning scam prevention into products that raise attacker cost”

The core product insight is simple:

Do not detect scams by reading vibes.
Break scam economics by raising verification cost exactly when candidate risk rises.

The underlying model is:

S = (U + R) / D

Where:

  • U is the value of the resource requested from the user;
  • R is the risk attached to giving that resource;
  • D is the verified cost the counterparty has spent proving legitimacy.

Most scam prevention tells the user to become better at reading suspicious text. That is fragile. The better move is to change the transaction.

When the candidate is asked to spend more time, trust, documents, account access, local code execution, or wallet risk, the counterparty must spend more verified proof first.

In short:

Raise D before U + R gets expensive.

This post turns that idea into three product models an agent can start implementing immediately.

All three products use the same primitive:

requested resource -> risk classification -> required proof -> safe next action

The product does not need to prove criminal intent. It only needs to decide whether the next candidate action is safe enough.

Resource requested from userRisk levelExamples
Attention1Chat reply, basic screening
Time2Call, interview, async questionnaire
Identity4CV with personal contacts, LinkedIn, location
Documents8Passport, tax ID, bank details, KYC
Work5Unpaid project, take-home task, project review
Account access10GitHub, Google, Notion, Slack auth
Device execution10Repo execution, APK, extension, desktop app
Wallet or funds10Wallet connection, seed phrase, test transfer
Proof provided by counterpartyProof valueNotes
Messenger handle0Cheap theater
Polished PDF or website1Easy to fake
Recruiter LinkedIn with real history2Useful but insufficient alone
Corporate-domain email challenge4Strong baseline proof
Official role URL4Stronger when independently discoverable
Calendar invite from company domain3Useful process proof
Verified legal entity or SOW5Needed before paid work
Paid test or refundable deposit5Raises counterparty cost
Platform-verified employer identity6Strong B2B proof
S = (resource_risk + requested_commitment) - proof_value

Use a subtractive score in implementation because it is easier to explain in UI and logs.

ScoreStateDefault action
0-3Safe enoughContinue with light warning
4-8Needs verificationAsk for proof before next step
9-15High-riskBlock expensive user action
16+Hostile by operational assumptionBlock and route to safety flow

The exact weights can change. The invariant should not.

As candidate-side risk rises, counterparty-side proof must rise too.

A personal inbound gateway for candidates.

Think of it as a Calendly-shaped hiring firewall. A recruiter cannot immediately request the candidate’s attention, CV, GitHub, call, or project review. They first pass through a verification gateway.

The product is not:

pay me to talk to me

The cleaner framing is:

prove who you are before renting my attention

Scammers rely on near-zero-cost outreach.

Their unit economics look like this:

cost to fake ~= 0
messages sent ~= many
candidate cost to process ~= high

The gateway raises D, the cost of legitimacy proof, before the candidate spends U + R.

For a real recruiter, this is usually cheap:

submit official role URL
verify corporate email
state compensation range
describe process

For a scammer, doing that reliably at scale is expensive.

Build the first version as a personal link:

/u/:handle

Example:

hirewall.example/max

The recruiter sees a short form:

FieldRequiredPurpose
Work emailYesCorporate-domain verification
Company nameYesDisplay and matching
Official role URLYesIndependent verification
Recruiter LinkedInOptionalExtra proof
Compensation rangeYesFilters vague bait
Requested next stepYesDefines candidate-side risk
MessageYesContext

After submission, the system sends a magic link to the work email. The candidate only sees verified or pending leads in their dashboard.

Start candidate-side.

PlanPriceValue
Free$01 public gateway, limited requests
Search$9-19/monthUnlimited requests, scoring, templates
Pro$49/monthMultiple profiles, Web3/freelance risk packs, evidence log

Add micro-stake later only if needed. A burned-stake system introduces disputes, chargebacks, and abuse risk. Domain proof and structured scope are cleaner for MVP.

  • A candidate can create a public inbound gateway link.
  • A recruiter can submit a structured hiring request.
  • A recruiter must verify through a corporate-domain email before the request is marked verified.
  • The request receives a risk score based on requested next step and provided proof.
  • The candidate sees a safe summary and a suggested reply.
  • The candidate is warned before any high-risk request such as code execution, document sharing, wallet action, or account login.
Build an MVP called Hiring Firewall.
Implement a candidate-side inbound gateway where recruiters submit structured hiring requests before asking for attention, CVs, calls, project reviews, GitHub access, documents, wallet actions, or code execution.
Core pages:
- candidate signup/login
- public gateway page at /u/:handle
- recruiter request form
- email-domain verification flow
- candidate dashboard with request cards
- request detail page with risk score and safe reply template
Core model:
Score = requested_resource_risk + requested_commitment - proof_value.
Block high-risk next steps until proof is sufficient.
Do not implement burned stakes in MVP. Use corporate-domain verification, official role URL, compensation range, and structured scope as proof.

A B2B trust-and-safety API for hiring platforms, freelance marketplaces, Web3 bounty boards, developer communities, and remote-work platforms.

The API watches for moments where a counterparty asks the user to spend a high-risk resource. When that happens, it returns the required proof level and the recommended UI interruption.

The product primitive is:

if requested candidate resource becomes expensive
then employer-side verification requirement increases

Platforms already have the hardest part: traffic and interaction data.

They can see:

  • external links;
  • file attachments;
  • project review requests;
  • requests to run repos;
  • requests for wallet actions;
  • requests for KYC;
  • suspicious urgency;
  • identity mismatch between profile, email, domain, and company.

The platform problem is that the user often reaches the danger point before verification catches up.

The API closes that gap.

Endpoint:

POST /v1/evaluate-interaction

  • A platform can send a requested action and proof set to the API.
  • The API returns a risk score, state, required proofs, UI recommendation, and block_user_action.
  • The API includes a safe reply template.
  • High-risk actions such as repo execution, app installation, wallet connection, and KYC produce blocking states unless proof is strong enough.
  • The UI widget can render a stable warning, rotating micro-lesson, and fixed CTA.
  • The admin console can inspect evaluations and tune risk weights without code deploys.
Build an Asymmetry Balancer API MVP for hiring and freelance platforms.
Implement:
- POST /v1/evaluate-interaction
- risk scoring based on requested_action and provided_proofs
- required_proofs generation
- recommended Scam Alert Pie UI payload
- safe_reply generation from templates
- admin-configurable weights
- basic event logging
Create a small demo page where a platform operator selects a requested action, proof set, and message excerpt, then sees the returned risk state, blocking decision, warning copy, and safe reply.
Use deterministic scoring first. Do not depend on LLM classification for MVP. Leave a later extension point for LLM-assisted message analysis.

Model 3: Score 16+ Incident Response Lead Generation

Section titled “Model 3: Score 16+ Incident Response Lead Generation”

A free scam-risk prompt and checklist that routes users to recovery paths when they are already in danger.

This is the fastest monetization path, but it is ethically sensitive.

The user may arrive after they already:

  • ran unknown code;
  • installed an app;
  • sent passport or tax documents;
  • shared bank details;
  • connected a wallet;
  • logged in through GitHub or Google;
  • sent KYC materials;
  • performed unpaid project work.

At that moment, the product can route them to the right recovery checklist, service, or specialist.

The prompt is the top of funnel.

High-risk classifications reveal a very specific need:

Danger pointRecovery path
Ran unknown repoDevice cleanup, malware scan, credential rotation
Installed APK or extensionMobile/browser security cleanup
Sent passport or KYCIdentity protection checklist
Shared bank detailsBank fraud checklist
Connected walletWallet incident response
Logged in with GitHub/GoogleOAuth audit and token revocation
Sent unpaid workEvidence log and boundary reply

This is valuable because the user is not a generic lead. They are a pre-qualified person with a concrete incident type and high intent.

Do not monetize panic.

The product must not scare the user into buying emergency services.

Use this order:

free first aid first
plain-language severity second
paid options third
affiliate disclosure always

The trust rule:

If the protector becomes an extractor, the model is dead.

Build a public page:

/check

The user pastes a conversation or answers a structured checklist.

The product returns:

  • Green / Yellow / Red verdict;
  • score;
  • exact danger points;
  • do-not-do list for 24 hours;
  • safe next message;
  • recovery checklist if damage may have occurred;
  • optional service directory with transparent disclosures.

Free first aid:

1. Disconnect from sensitive accounts.
2. Stop running the project.
3. Do not enter credentials into any related tool.
4. Rotate passwords for accounts used on the device.
5. Review GitHub, Google, and package-manager tokens.
6. Run a malware scan or use a clean device for sensitive accounts.
7. Save evidence before deleting messages.

Paid options:

Optional: professional device cleanup or incident response.
Disclosure: some listed services may pay referral fees.

Use a transparent recovery directory.

Revenue pathConstraint
Affiliate referralsMust be disclosed
Sponsored recovery listingsMust be labeled
Premium incident checklistFree version must remain useful
B2B referral partnershipsNo panic copy
Paid human reviewClear scope and limits
  • A user can run a free scam check without creating an account.
  • The system returns a verdict, score, danger points, safe reply, and do-not-do list.
  • 16+ routes to recovery paths based on detected danger points.
  • Every recovery path starts with free first-aid steps.
  • Paid referrals are visibly disclosed.
  • The copy avoids panic escalation and does not imply certainty when evidence is incomplete.
Build a free Hiring Scam Check MVP.
Implement:
- public /check page
- structured input form and paste box
- deterministic scoring using S = (U + R) / D style weights
- verdict: Green / Yellow / Red
- danger point extraction from selected checklist items
- safe reply template generation
- 24-hour do-not-do list
- recovery path routing for high-risk incidents
- transparent recovery directory with affiliate disclosure fields
Do not use fear-based copy.
Every paid option must be preceded by useful free first-aid steps.
Do not require account creation for the first check.

The three products can exist independently, but they fit naturally into one ladder.

Free:
article + prompt + scorecard
Low-ticket:
candidate safety kit
Mid-ticket:
personal inbound firewall
B2B:
Asymmetry Balancer API
High-intent:
transparent recovery directory

The cleanest starting path is usually:

free check -> candidate firewall -> B2B API

Lead generation can monetize early, but it must be handled carefully. If trust is damaged there, the whole adversarial-economics brand becomes incoherent.

If one agent were implementing this from scratch, the best sequence would be:

  1. Build the deterministic scoring library.
  2. Build the free Hiring Scam Check UI.
  3. Add recovery paths for 16+ incidents.
  4. Convert the same scoring library into the candidate inbound firewall.
  5. Extract the scoring library behind an API.
  6. Add B2B admin controls and event logs.
  7. Add marketplace UI widget support.

The reason is simple: all three products share the same scoring primitive. Build that once.

Input:
- requested_resources[]
- provided_proofs[]
- urgency_signals[]
- counterparty_context
Output:
- risk_score
- state
- danger_points[]
- required_proofs[]
- block_user_action
- safe_reply_template
- recovery_paths[]

State mapping:

0-3: safe_enough
4-8: needs_verification
9-15: high_risk
16+: hostile_by_operational_assumption

The implementation should be deterministic first. LLM analysis can improve extraction later, but the core product should not depend on model mood.

The market is not “scam detection.”

The market is restoring symmetry in dangerous hiring flows.

That is a stronger category because it covers scammers, exploitative employers, chaotic recruiters, fake Web3 roles, freelance project bait, and suspicious business relationships that are not cleanly classifiable but are still harmful.

The final product line can be summarized as:

Protect user resources by forcing counterparty proof to rise with requested user risk.

Or shorter:

Raise D before U + R gets expensive.

Section titled “title: “Юпитер как условие жизни””

Section titled “6) Ганимед как маленькое напоминание: важен контур”

Section titled “7) И теперь финальная вишенка (иллюстрация, не тема)”

Joy Crooks.

“Don’t you know the skin that you’re given was made to be lived in?”

“You’ve got a life worth living”

Section titled “Послесловие (одна фраза)”
